Our Adult and Kids Jiu Jitsu classes are taught either in the Gi or without the Gi (NoGi) depending on the time of year our athletes specific goals. If students are competing in tournaments we will ramp up our training in the rulesets to give maximum opportunity for success. We also believe its important to keep our Jiu Jitsu ready for the real world and always keep self defense as a strong aspect of our curriculum.
Often referred to as the game of human chess, BJJ is a grappling based art that utilizes takedowns, sweeps, joint locks and strangle holds to subdue your opponent or attacker. BJJ emphasizes a lot of drilling and live sparring also know as "rolling". These classes are practiced wearing the traditional Gi or Kimono and students are graded from white belt, all the way up to black belt.
Youth classes are focused on self defense Jiu Jitsu. A typical class starts with a warm up game, stretching, technique/ drilling, then ends with more fun games! These classes are appropriate for kids approximately 4 - 12 years old.
